Ever felt like you were just a passenger in the rollercoaster of life, with circumstances swirling around you beyond your control? I've been there. When I first stumbled upon the world of personal development, I was confused by the concept of shifting my mindset. Was I supposed to say affirmations? Journal my thoughts endlessly? It wasn't until I delved into the realm of neuro-linguistic programming that I truly grasped the profound influence of the subconscious mind and the multifaceted nature of "mindset." It's like having a team of players, each contributing to the game of life: beliefs, words, emotions, and actions.

Beliefs

Beliefs are the quiet architects of our lives, laying down the blueprint for our experiences. They're like the software running in the background of our minds, shaping how we perceive ourselves and the world around us. Think about it: most of these beliefs are wired into us during our formative years, from the tender age of 0 to 7. Let me give you an example: if as a child, you were repeatedly told you weren't good enough, guess what? That belief becomes your default setting, influencing the thoughts think throughout the day.

Thoughts & Words

Our beliefs dictate the thoughts that swirl around in our minds. These thoughts, in turn, dictate the words that spill from our lips. Ever catch yourself uttering phrases like "I can't," "I'm not good enough," or "I'm a hot mess" even if you’re joking? Those words aren't just harmless banter; they're like signposts leading straight back to our beliefs, reinforcing the stories we've been telling ourselves all along. The words we use not only shape our reality, but they also dictate our emotional state.

Emotions

Now, let's delve into the realm of emotions. They're the frequencies we emit into the universe. Ever noticed how when we're feeling down, it's like we're sending out a signal for more of the same? It's as if we're attracting a parade of circumstances that mirror our emotional state. But here's the thing: it's not about denying or suppressing these emotions; it's about recognizing that constantly dwelling in lower vibrational states—like fear, resentment, or anger—only perpetuates the cycle. Instead, we aim to elevate our emotional frequency to higher vibrations—think gratitude, joy, love. It's not about plastering on a fake smile or ignoring our true feelings; it's about consciously regulating ourselves back into alignment with what we truly desire. This is where learning how to regulate your nervous system comes into play (more on that in a future blog post). And why does this matter? Because our emotions aren't just fleeting sensations—they're the driving force behind the actions we take or choose not to take in our lives.

Actions

Our beliefs, thoughts, words, and emotions are like threads weaving together to create the tapestry of our lives. When negative beliefs hold sway, they often lead to a series of self-sabotaging actions. But when we shift our perspective and adopt empowering beliefs, the scene changes. Suddenly, we find ourselves taking concrete steps towards our dreams. t's this intricate interplay between our internal world and external actions that underscores the importance of our belief system.

Transformation

In essence, it all comes down to our belief system. If we want to enact change, we've got to start at the core. That's why I'm a firm believer in the power of hypnotherapy and breathwork. They bypass the noise of our conscious minds and dive straight into the depths of our subconscious, rewiring those beliefs from the inside out.
